About Drift away in Winchester and Hampshire

Hello and welcome to Drift Away, my name is Dannie Sowden and I am the hands behind the name!

I began training in massage several years ago with introductory courses before the bug really took hold. As someone who previously worked in a stressful school environment, I could see the need for some sort of stress relief and that is what gradually drew me to massage.

Since then I have gone on to achieve my formal qualifications and continue enjoying holistic therapy courses. I have developed a real passion for deep tissue massage after seeing how beneficial it has been to clients. I also believe in the importance of a healthy body and mind, so that although it is important to work on the muscles for remedial purposes, its also good to relax the body and remove the stress our body�s are holding.

I have lots of courses for 2011 lined up, mainly following on from my passion for deep tissue work. At the beginning of June I have a no hands massage course lined up. Future courses planned are muscle energy techniques, soft tissue techniques which works on fluid accumulation, scar tissue and muscle spasms, so builds on from the deep tissue and muscle energy techniques.

Massage is so important for your well being, it enables you to create �me� time for yourself and by reducing your stress levels, can help you stay on top form and to fulfil all your daily roles, not to mention the benefits to sore backs. That's why, even as a therapist, I continue to receive regular massage treatments, my favourite being Indian Head!
